Entertaiment, which is the focus of this issue of T E News, was one of the most challenging things we’ve ever tried to do. It required an enormous amount of research and effort. But, it’s worth it because it’s a great article on an interesting topic that deserves more attention than it has received in the past.

According to Oliver and Barstsch (2010) entertainment is an activity understood objectively, encompasses communication between text and audience from an external stimulus, offers pleasure, requires an audience and occurs in a passive form. This definition of entertainment is also supported by Bates and Ferri (2010).
